I Heart KD

Something super amazing happened to me on my 30th Birthday... I was fortunate enough to meet one of my all time favorite mentors - k.d. lang!

There was a store event at Indigo where I work PT and she came to do a live interview with some dude from the CBC. She wasn't meeting fans personally or even doing autographs for people, it was strictly to promote her new (amazing) record "Watershed". Before she went out to do her thing I was able to chat with her in the back office for a few minutes. We talked about Alberta, my age, her music, etc. It was awesome! She was so down to earth and thanked me for my support over the years. I hear people say all the time that you should never meet your idols because the experience will tend to let you down. I am proud to say kd was fantastic and exceeded all my expectations in regard to how she treated me. She signed a copy of her record for me and it's something that I will cherish for years and years to come... Thank you God for the most amazing birthday present ever!

Tonight I am off to see her show... it's the 4th time I will have seen her but tonight will be super special not only because I still feel so inspired by her but also because it's a intimate club performance. I am in love with the new record and I love her catalog of fantastic music... it's a match made in heaven!
