So far so good...

Summer to me is the season that could last forever... It could be June, July and August over and over again and you wouldn't hear any complaints from me. You could even throw in May and September and we could call it winter if you like. Even with these last two months where Toronto supposedly has had the most rain ever for this period, it has been still quite warm and for every day that we might have had some wet weather, there's been plenty of sunshine to go with it. We've had some pretty violent storms which is what I think has made our rainfall accumulation what it is... Every day (almost!) there are reports of fallen down trees and power lines, not to mention flooded basements and streets. I guess the weather has caused havoc in some people's lives, but for me I can't say that I've noticed it all that much. Usually I'm the first to cry fowl when the summer weather doesn't live up to it's reputation, but when the news report last week came out about how the rain is breaking 20 year records, my response was "oh really?".

July has been a great month for work as well, or lack there of I should say. We are ahead on schedule for "our part of the deal" which included hiring 60 associates and then of course training them. We met with over 250 candidates in June and July for sales associate positions with A/X. We were the first team to meet our hiring goal and were the first team to complete the orientation process. What this has meant for us is alot of time doing a whole lot of nothing. Which if it had to happen, July has been the perfect month for us to relax a bit. I know August will be insane so if anything this is kind of like the calm before the storm. We plan on opening 3 stores in the first week of August, so needless to say we will all be working at 150% for most of the month.

I've been able to squeeze in some camping for 3 weekends so far this summer which has been nice. Lots of stories from each trip but who's got time to tell them all. Guess you had to be there. I will hopefully be able to get out a couple times more before the season is through...

We celebrated JJ's 2nd Birthday a couple weeks back, it wasn't my intention to throw him another party but my friends insisted being that everyone has such a fun time last year. I'm not sure how telling it is when the amount of guests who come to your dog's birthday party rival that of your own birthday party. I guess now that we've done it twice, people will really be expecting one next year.

Ciao for now!
