What a week!

Every year my birthday somehow always turns out to be a week long affair... I'm not complaining but it's something that becomes predictable more and more each year...

Birthdays are only good because it's the time of year where your friends get together to celebrate you. I know I am fortunate to have many friends and it's only that reason that privileges me to stretch out this one day into several. Several several posts ago I mentioned how I have always been a person to bring people together either as couples, as friends, whatever... Whenever I organize something it always amazes me how many different worlds I can get to merge into one. I'm very appreciative of this and I will continue this year to bring people together... I challenge each of you to step outside your "zone" and include someone new in the next social thing you do. I think that new minds = new ideas and we all could use a little "refresh" if you know what I mean.

Living in the Past

This past week or so I've been so into old school WWF or WWE as it's now known... There's a new WWE Legends game coming out on PS3 that I'm super excited about so I guess it's rolled over into my world.

WWE just released a compilation of the best moments from "Saturday Night's Main Event". I can't tell you as child how many times I would flip through the TV guide looking to see if this show was going to be on. I remember how annoyed I felt everytime I saw "Saturday Night Live" in it's timeslot. Anyway some of my most favorite moments of the WWE happened on that show... Needless to say I've been a bit glued to the TV the last couple of nights reliving each moment on the 3 disc set.

On an unrelated note although still nostalgic; I made a 90's grunge complilation the other day. I've always wanted to make one but never got around to getting all the right tracks. Making CD's for me is like art, I put alot of effort into them ensuring that they get the right "moments". Anyway I'm really proud of what I did and I know for years to come it's going to make me smile.

The tracklisting for those who are curious...

Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
Enter Sandman - Metallica
Plush - Stone Temple Pilots
Violet - Hole
Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden
Jeremy - Pearl Jam
Under The Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Don't Cry - Guns N' Roses
Two Princes - Spin Doctors
Losing My Religion- R.E.M.
What's Up - 4 Non Blondes
Runaway Train - Soul Asylum
No Rain - Blind Melon
Loser - Beck
Buddy Holly - Weezer
Basket Case - Green Day
Zombie - The Cranberries
Creep - Radiohead

These songs represent many memories of high school... from the house parties, school dances, Muchmusic Top 30 countdowns, you name it! I love how music takes you places - nothing else in the world can do that and I think it's something to be enjoyed...
