'Bout time!

This is it! No - I'm not talking about Michael Jackson, I'm talking about joining the Mac revolution. After years of resistance and ponder - I am taking the big step this week and replacing my PC with an iMac. All year I have been putting it off - waiting for when they would announce the new models for 2010 and sure enough last week they did. Unexpectedly they are $100 cheaper and loaded with better features. It's like how could I not? Considering I use my PC for music, web surfing, some video action and MS Office - I know my iMac will be even better for all those things. Hopefully by this time next week I will be broadcasting live from my new toy...

More music you should know...

This post won't quite be as long as my last one but nonetheless take from it what you will. I feel lucky to be exposed to such great music through work and if I can share anything that I think other people would enjoy - I think I should. Music for me is never about one genre or taste, it's about mixing it up and being able to appreciate how it makes you feel.

Let's start off with some dance music... Tiesto released a new record today "Kaleidoscope" which is a bit of a step away from the typical trance stuff that's he's done. He's featuring some really cool vocalists on this adventure, Nelly Furtado, Tegan & Sara, Emily Haines, Sneaky Sound System to name a few. 3 of those vocalists I just mentioned are actually Canadian funnily enough... Who knew a dutch DJ would be so into Canadian chicks? Some stand out tracks and sure to be singles if they aren't already; "I Will Be Here", "Feel It In My Bones" and my new favorite "Who Wants to Be Alone".

Before I mention more stuff I have to give props to scrubs25 for recommending a really cool track by Phoenix "Lisztomania" Be sure to check out the Classixx Version.

Jay-Z dropped a hot record last month "Blueprint 3" it features the already overplayed - yet still smokin' "Run This Town" which features Rihanna and Kanye. The new single is "Empire State of Mind" which features the lovely Alicia Keys on vocals and piano is climbing it's way up on my most played playlist.

Speaking of "state of mind" every fall I tend to slip into an acoustic mood and after all the heavy dance beats of the summer it's relaxing to hear to the strum of an acoustic guitar. The Trew just put out an acoustic record and it features an amazing version of "Sing Your Heart Out". Another notable release is from an artist who isn't really well known but has had some good exposure on soundtracks to major films. Greg Laswell has got such a sexy voice - he is so great to listen to! He's just released an EP of covers on iTunes - be sure to check it out!

Now for something different... John Fogerty. He released an album last month or so that I am so into. He is best known for his work with CCR but had it not been for a girl at work I never would have discovered this record. The name of the album is "The Blue Ridge Rangers Ride Again" and it's got a definite "twang" to it. It's so much fun - worthy of anyone who wants some cool tracks to play in the background at your next party or something to jam to on the road. Highlights are "Garden Party" and "When Will I Be Loved" both tracks feature guest vocals from such legends as Don Henley and Bruce Springsteen.

Now go support some artists....
